Welcome to the Amapola Creek Production blog!

September 15, 2011

In 2001 Richard Arrowood sold Arrowood Winery to Robert Mondavi. He took the proceeds and purchased 100 acres of Sonoma Valley mountainside where he’s built his home, planted 12 acres of organically farmed grapevines, and of course constructed Amapola Creek Winery.

This project is the culmination of his 46 year career in winemaking and grapegrowing. All of his knowledge and expertise have been focused on making small volumes of the best wines possible from some of the best grapes around. As we like to say, this place is the real deal.

Here Richard would like to create a virtual space where you can get to know the entire process, from our organically farmed estate vineyards to the day to day operations of the winery. We’ll be covering everything that happens here, so you can truly get to know where the wines come from and how they are made. Harvest is starting any day now, so be sure to check back soon and see what we’re up to!
